EAST VALLEY PARK is located just off Isley Boulevard, across from Fishing River Storage. East Valley Park is an ideal place for family reunions or group picnics. The park has three large pavilions with several picnic tables and cooking facilities. All pavilions have water for public use. Playground equipment is also available throughout the park. A nature trail runs through the woods on the south side of the park while the Fishing River is on the north side.

ISLEY PARK WOODS
is located on the south side of East Valley Park. Isley Park Woods was named a state natural area by the Missouri Department of Conservation. The park features old-growth forest, wildlife, and a natural food path for interested trekkers.

FISHING RIVER LINEAR PARK
covers approximately 25 acres along the banks of the fishing River from the parking lot beside the Marietta Street Bridge to Golf Hill Bridge. The trail passes behind the HISTORIC HALL OF WATERS though “Siloam” offering playground equipment for children, lighted baseball/softball diamond complete with restroom and concession facilities along the way. The tree-lined trail leads you past the HISTORIC SUPERIOR PAGODA and the more recently constructed PARK SPRING PAGODA located on the side of our most popular spring from years ago. The Park Springs produces the Calcium water that is still bottled today. The walking trail is adjacent to East Valley Park, Isley Park Woods and the Siloam Mountain Park.

SUNNYSIDE PARK
located at Dunbar and Beverly Streets, offers a great day of fun. For the children, several pieces of playground equipment are available. Lots of green grass to run though, eight acres of rolling hills. With the first snows of winter you will be likely to see hundreds of children (and adults, too) taking full advantage of the hills which are perfect for sledding. Two pavilions are available for picnicking. Soon Sunnyside will be the home of the newest pagoda to be constructed at this site.

SILOAM MOUNTAIN PARK
covers 25 acres off of Garland Street. The park is a great location to really see Excelsior Springs. Three large pavilions, two with water and all electricity. A comfort station is also available. Lots of playground equipment and benches for relaxing. New playground equipment has been added for more fun. Several picnic tables and barbecue facilities are scattered throughout the park.

LINCOLN PARK
just north of downtown. Tennis courts and playground equipment.

KIBLER PARK
off Dunbar in the northwest part of the City. Features playground equipment, picnic tables and 3 acres of open space to relax.

COOLEY LAKE WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA
, located off N Highway just north of 210, is a recent addition to the Missouri Department of Conservation. A variety of wildlife may be viewed there throughout the year, particularly during the spring and fall waterfowl migrations. Hunting and fishing are allowed in restricted areas at restricted times; check for local regulations for use.


Recreation

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS COMMUNITY THEATRE The Theatre brings stage plays and theatre craft to Excelsior Springs and the surrounding area. Located in the auditorium of the Wyman building, the theatre seats almost 200 persons. The theatre sponsors the Fishing River Follies as well as a number of plays and productions. WALKING TRAIL
running parallel to Highway 69 from Excelsior Springs Medical Center to West High School on to Crown Hill Rd. Completion anticipated summer ‘98.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL COMPLEX
consists of three ball diamonds, two with complete lighting, and is used by both adult and youth players. Included at the softball/baseball field complex is a concession stand, restroom facilities, a shelter house, and playground equipment .

WATKINS MILL, travel 6 miles north of Excelsior Springs on Highway 69 North to Highway 92 West following the signs. The park includes a very unusual combination of the southern plantation culture with the beginnings of the industrial area and a 1,289 acre recreational area offering fishing, swimming, boating, bicycling, hiking and camping. Picnic areas and playground equipment are available. Tours of the mill are given Monday-Saturday 10 AM to 4 PM. Sunday hours - winter 11 AM to 4 PM; summer 12 noon to 6 PM.
