The mineral waters of Excelsior Springs have made this small community famous nationwide. Known as 'the Haven of Health", Excelsior Springs claims to have the world's greatest group of mineral waters - 20 separate mineral springs with four distinct varieties of water. Spa resorts rarely possess more than one type of water. |

John Van Buren Flack, D.D. and named 'Excelsior' after Longfellow's much quoted poem. The name was later changed to Siloam and it is housed under the Hall of Waters today. |
