First school opened by Mrs. Robert Caldwell 1881
Isley Primary School 1890 First Isley school built.

1902

Isley school burned.

1903

Isley school rebuilt.

Isley Elementary 1972 Two 11-year olds confessed to setting fire to Isley Elementary, doing $100,000 damage and forcing 200 students to move to temporary facilities.
Junior High School 1915 Junior high school organized.
Lincoln School located Kansas southeast corner Osage
1888 "for Negroes"; school integration arrived in 1955
1917 Principal Henry Burton
Wyman High School 1886 Wyman school built.
1890 High school established in Wyman, accredited same year.
1929 Building condemned.
1930 Building was razed near the end of 1930. Students were moved to the old high school, now Wyman Elementary.

Lewis School 501 Leavenworth St
1951 In December Lewis School was opened - then an elementary school.
1960 Lewis became a three-year junior high school
1967 A $380,000 bond was approved for additions to Westview and Lewis.
1971 Voters approved additons to the school.
St. Ann's Catholic School 1953 opened with three classrooms at Kansas City and Leavenworth Avenues.
Elkhorn Elementary 1960 built with a $135,000 bond
1971 Voters approved additons to the school.
Washington Elementary 1953? About 1953? Washington Elementary School, located at the intersection of Highways 69 and 92, burned. Voters in that school district approved a $15,000 bond three months later to rebuild it.
1963 Approval obtained for two more rooms.
1969 Washington School district was annexed to Excelsior Springs.
Westview Elementary 1964 A $350,000 bond was approved for constructing Westview Elementary.
1967 A $380,000 bond was approved for additions to Westview and Lewis.
East High School
(Roosevelt)
first game played under lights at Roosevelt Field was October 2, 1930 against Higginsville.
High School 1913 First high school built.
1915

Addition, doubling size of high school, erected.

1938 Fire destroyed the high school auditorium.
West High School 1972 A $1.05 million bond was passed for construction of the new West High School.
