| The Fishing River linear Park lies behind the Hall of Waters and Police Station. Its banks were always a gathering place for citizens and visitors of Excelsior Springs and has provided a unique setting for the annual Fishing River Festival and Fishing River Rendezvous. It contains a scenic walking trail, Park Pavilion, softball complex with restrooms, playgrounds, and parks with picnic facilities and shelter houses.
The Superior Well and Pagoda is located adjacent to the walking trail on the east end. It was built in 1901 by the J. C. Isley family and became the property of Gordon and Connie Dille, who donated it to the City of Excelsior Springs in 1983. The Superior Springs was one of five prominent springs located here. The pagoda is the last remaining original pagodas in town. It is listed on the Local Landmarks Register. |
