DANCY, LACY, MCAULEY, WILLIAMS posted by Krista Nelson on Thursday, January 20, 2005: Looking for any information on a Homer and Carrie LACY (WILLIAMS) - maiden Excelsior Springs. Carrie passed away around 1960. She was a member of the Christian Union Church. They had two daughters Velma MCAULEY and Margaret DANCY. Any information would be helpful

Annanias CLEVENGER, my great great grandfather came to Ray County, Missouri, just west of Excelsior Springs, MO in about 1890. His wife, Mary Elizabeth LILLARD, was my great great grandmother. Mary Elizabeth died in Cocke County, Tennessee before Annanias came to Missouri. I would gladly exchange any infomation that I have.

posted by Brian Lea on Tuesday, June 21, 2005: I grew up in Excelsior Springs and vaguely remember one of my teachers bringing in a video or promotional movie about Excelsior Springs back in its heyday...probably made in the 1940's or 1950's. Has anyone else seen this movie, and is there a way to obtain a copy of it? Any help would be much appreciated.

POLK posted by Betty Whiteaker on Tuesday, August 23, 2005: My grandparents Dr.and Mrs. D. T. POLK were Excelsior Springs residents. My grandfather was city physician. My grandmother was Elnora and their children were Wilma, Mary Frances, Elizabeth, Iris, Lucille, Graham, and Faye Ruth. They lived in Excelsior Springs from about 1898 to 1960. Do you have have any info about them, or do you have or want any items for your museum? My grandfather built two buildings across from the Hall of Waters. The Iris building and I don't remember the name of the other one.

ABBOTT, DUVAL, RIMLSEY posted by Marvin Abbott on Thursday, February 16, 2006: Marvin ABBOTT is the former owner of a house located on 409 South Thornton Street in Excelsior Springs. This house was originally owned and built by the DUVAL's in 1890 with a Victorian style twist. This house was later owned by Dr. RIMLSEY who used the upstairs as apartments. Then in 1967 it was owned by the present owner the Abbott's that now is a single family dwelling. The features of the house includes a central entrance, with a second story window above the central hallways. They are also flanked by a projecting bay with central windows on north and by windows on south. A veranda that run's across the primary facade to the projecting bay, witch has been altered since its construction. The inside of the veranda has some cast iron posts and railing added in recent times. Interior details include oak woodwork, sliding doorways and a carved oak staircase. Then just off of the kitchen is a back staircase that leads to an extra room where the attic entrance is located. Due to the fact that the house is so old, it was not insulated to the percision that the houses are now, so the heating bill is quite a doosie.

NEAL, WOODARD posted by Mike Robertson on Thursday, February 16, 2006: Spa View Haven (nursing home) Was discussing the Spa View (120 Bluff St.) now demolished and could not remember the person who was the owner/manager while it was still in business during the '70's & '80's. We think his first name was Sam and his last name began with a "W" (we think!) I also would like to know when it was built and was it a "clinic" origionally. Any information would be greatly appreciated! followup: I was told that the name was Sam WOODARD. Bob NEAL always borrowed the manager's boat whenever he went fishing. Still don't know about it's origional business (clinic, nursing home, etc...)

DILLEN, DILLON posted by John Franey on Thursday, February 16, 2006: We are searching for obituary information on our gg-grandparents William DILLEN - DILLON died May 16,1893 and Nancy DILLEN - DILLON died March 12,1903. Both died in Excelsior Springs, Missouri and are buried at Pisgah Cemetery.

According to family records she died in a sanitorium in Excelsior Springs. How do I go about obtaining this information? Thank you for your help.

COX, HOLMAN posted by Maggie Cox Russell on Thursday, February 16, 2006: I am searching for information on Rosslin Milo HOLMAN, born 1911, Caldwell county, MO and married Lenora COX, 1937, in Chillicothe, Livingston, MO. Milo died in 1968, funeral arrangements were handled in Polo, Caldwell, MO, which states he is buried in Excelsior Springs, MO. Did Lenora remarry? Does she have family still residing in Excelsior Springs?
