Report a Pothole or Street Problem
To report a pothole in your street or neighborhood, or a problem with a street call 630-0755, or write the Public Works Department, 201 E. Broadway, Excelsior Springs, MO 64024. Please include your name, address, phone number, and a full description of the problem.
If you have problems with maintenance, signs, or signals on highways, call: Missouri Highway & Transportation Department 889-3350

If you want to request a speed limit, warning, parking regulation sign, etc., call the non-emergency number at the Police Department 630-2000
For snow removal the City has been divided into three(3) sections. Each section has streets prioritized as follows: Priority 1 Main thoroughfares and steeper hills. Priority 2 Major residential streets and smaller hills. Priority 3 Lesser traveled and flatter residential streets. Call on snow removal may call the Public Works Department at 630-0755. After hours and on weekends, all snow calls can be forwarded to the Non-emergency number for the Police Department 630-2000.
Sidewalks are the responsibility of the property owner. To report a dangerous sidewalk, call 630-0755. The City's Public Works Department will inspect and verify the hazard, and if the sidewalk is dangerous, the property owner will be notified to repair it. If the property owner is committed to replace the sidewalk, and if the location is feasible to operate equipment, the Public Works Department will tear out and haul away the broken concrete. To request new sidewalks or neighborhood-wide repairs, contact a member of the Capital Improvements Board. They have committed funds to construct sidewalks in areas for the safety of children walking to school.
Union Electric is responsible for the repair of malfunctioning lights. You will need the pole number, located on the pole, before calling Union Electric at 1-800-552-7583. Developers are responsible for installing street lights in subdivisions. Other questions regarding street lights should be directed to the Public Works Department at 630-0759.
Report Water Problems
To report a water leak in the street, to inquire about water pressure, to have the water turned on or off for repairs, or to report any kind of problem with the City's water service, call the Public Works Department at 630-0755. After hours or on weekends, to report an emergency, call the Police Department's non-emergency number(630-2000). If you are moving in or out, or if you have a billing inquiry, call 630-0760, or visit the Cashier's window, in the Finance Department, 201 E. Broadway, Excelsior Springs, MO.
Report Sanitary Sewer or Storm Drainage Problems
If you have problems with sanitary sewer lines, call the Public Works Department at 630-0755. After hours or on weekends call the Police Department's non-emergency number 630-2000. If you have problems with culverts, storm drains, or drainage ditches, call 630-0755, or write to the Public Works Department, 201 E. Broadway, Excelsior Springs, MO. Please provide your name, address, phone number, and a description of the problem. To locate water and sewer mains before construction call 630-0755. Water and Sewer main locates are not included in your call to DIG-RITE.
Trash Pick-up Inquiries
To register an inquiry about trash pickup in Excelsior Springs, call Steve Haller Disposal Company, at 1-800-927-3072, or the Public Works Department at 630-0759. To inquire about items not picked up on normal collection day, such as appliances, hazardous waste, yard waste or demolition material, call 1-800-927-3072.
Design and Construction
Contact the Public Works Director for construction standards and specifications regarding water and sewer main, storm drains and streets. A Manual of Practice for Construction Standards is available for a fee of $40.00. For information call 630-0755. Office hours for all of the above are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday though Friday.
