Library Rules    [back to top]

1.  Sign in at the desk unless you are entering the Library with a
     scheduled class.

2.  Exhibit appropriate classroom behavior.

3.  No food or drink in the Library or Computer Labs.

4.  Sign the Computer Lab sign in sheet in order to use either
     Computer Lab.

5.  Exit only through the security gate.

Checkout Procedure:
You must present your School ID at the Circulation Desk in order to check out library materials.  You are responsible for all materials checked out on your card; don't lend it or lose it!  If you do not have your Library Card with you, we will reserve materials for you for one day.

Checkout Period:
Books and Paperbacks:   Two weeks
Reference Books:             Overnight
Periodicals:                       Two weeks


Overdues    [back to top]

Overdue notices are sent to students through Seminar at the end of each month.  However, do not wait for an overdue notice--you are responsible for returning library materials on time.  Grade cards will be held and you will not be able to check out additional library materials until all overdues have been returned and fines paid. The fine schedule is as follows:
Books:                     5 cents per school day; maximum of $2.00
Reference Books:   25 cents per school day; maximum of $2.00
Periodicals        :       5 cents per school day; maximum of $2.00


Small Computer Lab   [back to top]

The Small Computer Lab consists of 15 computers.  The following resources are available in the Small  Computer Lab:
 
               Microsoft Office 2000 (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Publisher)
               EBSCOhost    
               NewsBank
               Gale Group Databases          
               Discover (College & Career Information)
               Internet Explorer
              


Large Computer Lab    [back to top]

The Internet Lab consists of 25 computers. The resources in the Larage Lab are as follows:

            Internet via Netscape Communicator

            Microsoft Office 1997 (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access)
            EBSCOhost
            NewsBank
            Gale Group Databases
            Discover (College & Career Information)
            Internet Explorer

There are also 4 video editing computers in the lab.
            

To use the Labs:

1.  Sign the Computer Lab sign in sheet at the Circulation Desk.
2.  Pick up a numbered pass.
3.  Sit at the correspondingly numbered computer.
4.  Place your pass in the pass holder on top of the computer.
5.  Be sure to return the pass to the Circulation Desk when you leave.

Computer Lab Rules

1.  Access school-appropriate sites ONLY.
2.  E-mail and game-playing are permitted before and after
     school ONLY.
3.  Chat rooms are prohibited.
4   Do not fill in any forms asking for your name, address,
     or other information unless you have PRIOR permission.
5.  Cut & paste and limit printing
6.  Get permission in advance and pay 10 cents per page for
      printing graphics or excess printing 

Consequences of Violating Internet Rules

1.  First offense:       Lose Internet Privileges for two weeks.
2.  Second offense:  Lose Internet Privileges for semester.


Exiting the Library   [back to top]

Exit through the security gate ONLY.  Diskettes and VHS tapes should be held up over the gate to prevent erasure.  Do not hold notebooks or bookbags over the gate.
